Or perhaps it would make good advertising, parked on the side of that Masonic warehouse we were discussing the other day? Though I am perhaps not the best one to listen to where matters of project/fun cars is concerned...
I will admit, I did think about that! Cover it with some advertising and write it off the taxes! Alas though, I do better keeping such schemes locked in my head! 😎
As someone as someone who last August bought a completely un-needed and impractical vehicle and then wound up tinkering with said vehicle for several months including building a shed for it, I say go for it! You can buy seatbelts and other things and you don't need a full blown garage, check into carports. Finally, check out the Autopian website. David Tracy is building an entire 1940s Jeep from parts he's buying on eBay.
The problem solving you'll have to do with the jeep will keep your mind young and that is priceless.
I enjoyed following your side by side purchase and modifications this past fall! It did look to be a fun project, and it was certainly interested to read about and see.
Thanks for the website recommendation! I checked it out, and it does look like there's loads of fun content there! Not to mention, vehicles of the sort that I could actually afford!
I’m with Kent - go for it! We now have two metal frame ‘sheds’ that are covered with nylon/tarpaulin material with zip shut doorways. They aren’t ‘HOA’ pretty but they get the job done. One of those might work for the trailer then widen your garage opening for the jeep. Tinkering staves off dementia.
Actually, the garage door isn't the problem. That's one of the things so strange about it. The door is big enough to admit a car, but the building itself is too short for it to fit, and so narrow that the only way to get out of the car if one drove it in there would be to break out the car's back window and climb. For my fat self anyway! Of course, I suppose that would work with the Jeep, as it doesn't have a back to speak of. 🤠
Seriously though, your dementia point is well taken.
Exercising the mind is just as important as exercising the body. I do think about that from time to time, and have concluded that memorizing Freemasonic ritual work is super effective at that I don't see much at all in the way of dementia among active Freemasons, and I've come to the conclusion it is at least partially because of this regular memorization and performance.
I also look at some of my Tarot practice in that way. Find a cool quote or something, then randomly draw a card to illustrate it. Now, use intuition and creativity to write about how that card relates to and illustrates, symbolizes, that quote.
I don't know why I worry about dementia (beyond the fact that I view it as much worse than death) as no one in my family has ever suffered from it, but I do work in an environment with a much higher than normal average age, and I have seen it devastate the lives of a couple different people.

Where's the fun in that! 😜
I know it!

It's only 3 years older than I am. That's practically new for a vintage Jeep!
Four older than me. And, I think in about the same shape. Not perfect, but still moving with plenty of life left! 🤠
