I do get what you mean though, brand recognition and familiarity, especially one so closely intertwined with your family and childhood would be a tough one to adapt to.
Here's a peculiar story. Where my parents built a one-:story home in 1950, it had been like your "Farm". The barbed wire fence came down, and the new gravel road was named "Meadow Lane"! At the West end of the 20 lots were mailboxes, where a US Postal worker would deliver mail in his horse drawn wagon. Times change! A few miles away, Senator Robert C. Byrd got a new FBI Fingerprint Center built not too many years ago.
The FBI Employees first said they didn't want to relocate from DC to backwoods West Virginia? But their kids now enjoy Bridgeport High School sports, where their basketball and football teams are #1 in the State of West Virginia.
Part of our farm is perpetually protected from development, so it should be able to remain producing food forever. But other parts, up on the hill have spectacular views, so I fear that someday, probably long after I'm gone, homes will go there.
