All very interesting. I do find Vance a fascinating character - didn’t really know what to make of his book when I first read and really don’t know now! Of course, I very much enjoyed the tarot essay - “That is not their function. All the cards do—I say as if it’s a small thing—is show you yourself.” She’s not wrong!
