You would think family is more important than politics... Alas, my family wasn't welcomed to Thanksgiving dinner because my (adult) child is nonbinary and their uncle, out of the blue, decided he didn't "want that around his kids."
In case you're wondering, this is why some of us are so overly concerned with the outcomes of elections.
I am very sorry to learn that this happened to you, your family, and particularly your child. Clearly their uncle is in the wrong.
I do have to ask though, would the uncle's misguided action be any different no matter who won the election?
I ask because I rather hold the belief that the fundamental problem is a lack of perspective and a goofy belief that politics is somehow more important than family.
